Few hours after sending in a resignation email to organizers of the Miss Ghana pageant, 2017 Winner, Margaret Dery, says been a winner of the pageant is one of her worst experiences in life.
Reacting on Twitter, the 2017 winner of Miss Ghana labelled the Miss Ghana beauty pageant brand as a big sham.
She therefore advised other ladies whose sole interest is to be crowned Queens to be very circumspect since there is absolutely nothing positive about the Miss Ghana crown.
“Being a miss Ghana queen has honestly been one of the worse experiences of my life, yeah, I know it looks good on the outside but it’s just one big sham on the inside. All that glitters is not gold. Ladies, you don’t need a crown on your head to succeed,” Miss Dery tweeted.

As part of her advice, Dery also encouraged other ladies to be bold in speaking against any injustice that they are facing in the society.
“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty, truth and compassion against injustice, lying and greed. No more will I cover up for anyone that doesn’t deserve it. The whole world will know the truth soon.” Margaret Dery posted on Twitter.
According to sources, Miss Dery had tried some months ago to relinquish the crown but was persuaded by her family not to do so.
The organisers of the pageant, Exclusive Events Ghana, have released a statement gladly accepting her resignation.
Meanwhile, Exclusive Events Ghana will on August 2, 2018 launch the 2018 edition of the pageant.
